Q2 2025 - Mattingly Low Vision Newsletter

Mattingly Low Vision, Inc. Newsletter 05/21/2025

Q2 2025 - Mattingly Low Vision Newsletter

The Iluminator

“Illuminators … have a persistent curiosity about other people. They have been trained or have trained themselves in the craft of understanding others…. They shine the brightness of their care on people and make them feel bigger, deeper, respected, lit up.”

-David Brooks, How to Know a Person:
The Art of Seeing Others Deeply and Being Deeply Seen

Seasons of Change

Spring is here! As new visions of life emerge all around us this season, we here at Mattingly Low Vision are excited to launch our first quarterly newsletter. In it, we will highlight helpful information for your vision needs, exciting new developments, and even an opportunity to win a gift card for answering our pop quiz! Just as spring is bringing new life to the landscape, our business is teeming with growth that we are delighted to share with you.

Our biggest news is that we moved to a beautiful new space! Our company offices are now located in a brand new building (see address below). After all, vision of all kinds changes over time, and this move reflects our expanding vision for our business and how we can best meet your needs.

“Change happens. Anticipate change. Monitor change. Adapt to change quickly. Change. Enjoy change.”
-Spencer Johnson, Who Moved My Cheese?

Nothing stays the same, and how we react to and deal with change—even enjoying it when we can—is key. We are fully embracing and enjoying this office move, and we’re eager to move forward with continued growth at our new headquarters.

Another change we are celebrating is our new digital headquarters
our new website: MattinglyLowVision.com
We’re excited to share it with you and hear your feedback. Our goal was to create a more user-friendly site that meets your needs and provides the vital information you need most when shopping and ordering. In addition, we’ve updated all of our company websites for your convenience (which can be browsed at the top of our main website).

While our physical and digital locations have received an upgrade, our vision for our company remains strong as ever. We are a family-owned and operated company that specializes in high quality, lighting and optical products. With decades of combined education and industry knowledge, we offer the best selection and designs possible with outstanding customer service. We care deeply about our customers and are here to help you succeed.

As we make the transition from spring into summer, one certainty we do have is that everything will keep changing over time. Our new location changes, for example—physical and digital—have been in the works for over two years. It’s so important to have faith that progress is happening, even when we can’t see it right away.

Take gardening for example. Some folks (Sean Mattingly is one) are both indoor and outdoor gardeners. Winter is generally a season to stay inside, regroup, and take time for yourself. But some people also wintergarden, preparing for the months to come. Some seasons are best served by focusing on preparation for the future. We certainly found this to be true this past winter.

The harvest we enjoy now are the flowers grown from bulbs we planted a season or more before. Or it’s tomatoes harvested in the summer that were planted in early spring. And while there can be monotony in repetition and preparation that requires great patience, there is a promise of a blossoming future hope ahead. We at Mattingly are eager to see how the “garden” of our company continues to bloom throughout this spring and beyond—and to offer a beautiful harvest to you as it grows.
